I just returned from a small trip in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Most of the time was spent working on my latest project, Force, a focus on people living with Wind Energy. However, I did manage to take in the UNESCO World Heritage Giants Causeway one cloudy morning. I wanted to share a few of the images of these amazing geological formations.

Utrecht Photography 2 of 2 – Kayaking on the Canals
Yesterday I posted a panorama photograph of Utrecht city center as part of a two part blog post on photography in Utrecht. This is the second post.
Recently I took the opportunity to head out with some dear friends and kayak around the canals of Utrecht. With boats graciously provided by Kanoverhuur Utrecht, we paddled under canal bridges, watched the autumn leaves fall on our heads and explored the city from a new angle. I would recommend that anytime you are traveling and get a chance to see a city from the water, take it. It is a fantastic experience, especially in Holland where you can explore all the small canals and back waterways that you would never discover. I hope that you enjoy this gallery of images from Utrecht and our kayak on the canals.

Panorama – Rub’ Al Khali, Oman
I invite you to step into the Rub’ Al Khali of Oman via this panorama. 300m high sand dunes for endless kilometers, the Rub’ Al Khali, (the Empty Quarter), is quite simply one of the natural wonders of our world. The hot valley floors are littered with geodes, the silence is incredible and the endless shifting dunes will allow your imagination to run wild.

Images Published in National Geographic Traveler
My first travel photographs in National Geographic Traveler have been published! The June edition of the Netherlands travel magazine includes not one, but two articles illustrated with my images. One article visually highlights the wonderful diversity in Oman, where ancient cultures are clashing with modern, oil driven world. The other is a photo essay about the Salzkammergut region in Austrian Alps. To preview the articles, click here.
To celebrate, I am offering a 30% discount on prints on any of the 25 images that appear in the magazine if you use the coupon code ‘natgeocelebration’.
Remember, use coupon code: natgeocelebration on checkout!
And don’t forget to share this with a friend so they can benefit from this offer as well.

Two photographs of Monument Valley, which is the best?
I want your opinion!
I was recently in Monument Valley in Arizona and I created these two drastically different images of the landscape with the mittens. Photographed only 50m apart, these two images raise several questions about composition, viewer opinion and human impact on our environment. I want to know which image you prefer. Image #1: The Cedar Log and Mittens or Image #2: The Parking Lot.
Which one do you prefer and why? Leave your comment below.
